Natural Oatmeal Beauty Treatments Out Perform Commercial Chemical Treatments And Save Money!!
With a sour economy and money getting tighter more and more people are looking to affordable home beauty treatments. That is on top of the already astronomically growing number of people that are tired of reading a long list of side effects and destroying the environment at the same time. These people have been rediscovering the age old beauty secretes that work and save them money. Among the leading natural products that can improve your beauty is oatmeal. Yes the same oatmeal that you eat for breakfast to stay healthy.
For thousands of years, oatmeal and other natural products have been used for facial, scrubs, toning masks, facial masks, to treat rashes, acne, exczema and many more. The items you need to make these are all natural, affordable and will usually already be in your house. If they are not they can be found at any grocery store or Wal-Mart which seem to be around every corner. We will start with an oatmeal facial scrub.
Facial scrubs can be a very important part of your daily, or nightly, beauty regimen. This is a simple, affordable naturally effective one you can make at home. You will need the following ingredients for this facial scrub:
Three cups of water, distilled or drinking water that has been purified is best. The chlorine and other chemicals in tap water can damage your skin.
One quarter of a cup of almonds, these can organic or any other type you choose.
A quarter cup of oatmeal, rolled oats, again organic is what I prefer but any will work.
The only other item you will need is a blender or food processor. While you can do this by hand I do not recommend it. It will work just as well being made with one of these small appliances.
You will also need a small mixing bowl.
We begin by placing the oatmeal in the mixing bowl. Make sure the bowl is large enough to hold your ingredients.
Next we take our almonds and cut them into small pieces, about the size of a kernel of corn. Take the small pieces of almond and mix them into the oatmeal already in the mixing bowl. Mix them well, using a spoon. I prefer wooden spoons but any spoon of the right size will work.
Now we will use the blender or food processor to grind the oatmeal and almonds into a powder. This can be done in just a few minutes with either of these appliances.
Return the now powdered oatmeal and almonds to the mixing bowl we started with.
Heat the three cups of pure water. The water should be just slightly hotter than your bath water. Mix in about a half cup of the water. The exact amount will vary slightly depending on the powder density. Mix well, you want a pasty consistency like hand lotion. Keep the extra water nearby.
Use the facial scrub when it cools to room temperature. Apply like you would any commercial facial scrub. The extra can be safely stored in the refrigerator for 10 days. Use as needed.
